This weekend, I continued my exploration of Japanese music. I found a random playlist on Spotify, hit shuffle, and found this song. I enjoyed this song as it seemed to combine genres. The beginning part was fast like rap, but the chorus was more upbeat like pop. The singer enunciated his words very clearly, so I was able to understand more words and forms. Below is a YouTube video of this song.
Thanks to my Japanese study thus far, I was able to recognize many words including nouns, verbs, and adjectives (especially verbs) as well as uses of the plain form and the Te-form. I was able to distinguish between katakana words and hiragana words very easily just by listening. I could also read some of the kanji in the Japanese captions. Unfortunately, I didn't really grasp the meaning of the song, but hopefully I will be able to with further study.
