Episode One

This weekend, I watched the premiere of an anime called "Hell's Paradise," because I saw a TikTok about it. Though I've only seen one episode thus far, the premise right now seems to be that the main character, who is a swordsman and an assassin, cannot die no matter what. It opens with him being captured and someone studying him, trying to figure out how he doesn't die. He then discusses his personal history, which is quite tragic.

I was able to understand some vocab words and forms such as asking questions and making requests. I think that the character's personalities reflect how they speak Japanese such as what form (polite, casual, etc.) of speech they used and what suffixes they added to the ends of their sentences. I also learned a little bit about Japanese culture/history even though this is a fictional show because it is set in the Edo period of Japan. It depicts ninjas/shinobi and Edo period clothing.
