Ghost in the Shell (1995)

GHOST IN THE SHELL

This weekend, I decided to watch a classic anime that I'd actually never seen before. I knew how big the franchise had become, so I thought it would be a good immersion in both language and culture to watch. The movie was very well-made and the animation was fantastic. It was very stylish and reminded me a little of Akira as well as Serial Experiments Lain. The movie was very well-made and the animation was fantastic. It was a sci-fi/mystery/action with a lot of big philosophical questions about existence and concern over the future of technology and AI. I enjoyed the symbolism and artistry, especially the use of light and shadows.

I was able to recognize words, including question words like "who?" as well as many adjectives including difficult, scary, new, dark, and more. I could recognize numbers as well and some grammatical structures like duration and time as well as the -te form for requests.
